This guest house’s nearly all glass façade and extended porch roof overhangs posed structural challenges during the design phase. Both were solved using large wide flange beams. These beams cantilevered out to pick up the porch roof and were sized to meet the strict deflection requirements of the curtain wall used for the front walls.
