A design-build project, this new two-story athletic facility for Worcester Academy features two basketball courts, a swimming pool, locker rooms, offices and a large fitness area. While the majority of the building is composed of masonry bearing walls and precast floors and roof, the gymnasium roof uses long-span steel trusses while the natatorium roof uses glulam beams and solid wood decking.
